Marijuana (cannabis) is constantly being promoted as a way to reduce depression and suicides, PTSD and opioid / narcotic abuse).

Clinical Psychology Review: this study (2021) shows how cannabis use among veterans is consistently associated with substance abuse of other drugs including alcohol and increased self harm and suicides.
